Day #173 of 365 Project

I love these yellow roses. These were on a fence on the way out of town towards LS Park. I have planted yellow roses in my yard in the past but mine always end up turning into a redish purple color flower by the 2nd year. I have been told it's because I don't care for the properly and they go wild. Oh well, I can enjoy other peoples yellow ones!

Day #172 of 365 Project

It was pouring down rain but these good dogs were going to stay put where they were supposed to be! They really didn't seem to mind the rain. I thought they were cute enough to become a post! :)

Thanks to the National Guard

I am a little slow in getting this up here, I thought I had already posted it. So I want to say thank you to the National Guard Prineville Recruiting Mobil Event Team for all they did to make this years CCHS All-Night Senior Party such a success and for making it so much fun. These men did an outstanding job and are very appreciated!

The Prineville Trains

I thought I better get some shots of the trains before they disappear like so many other things that have been in our town for what seems like forever. I procrastinated about getting a picture of the old Prineville Machine Shop building for months and then one day on my way to work I saw that it was nothing but a pile of rubble, it had been torn down!!! :( I had worked at that place as a teenager years ago for a summer job, and now it's gone. So when I spotted the trains out the other day I figured I better get some shots before it was too late!!! I see the tracks being torn out every day and I know soon the rail road will be a thing of the past :(

High School Rodeo Finals

I had photo shoots all day Saturday so I only got to watch a little bit of the High School Rodeo finals but I did get to see my favorite parts, barrells and poles. I love to see what action and expressions I can capture in my photos when I go to an event such as this. I was not let down, these girls & their horses definately had some great action and expressions! I have also been trying to think outside the box or outside my comfort zone when I take pictures now, so I got a few shots of things I generally don't pay any attention to when I am at an event such as this. The Crooked River round up is next weekend and I plan on going and trying to get some great shots and work on a few of my "summer project" assignments. One of my assignments is to try to get shots of "100 strangers" and I thought I just may be able to do it next weekend.

Day #171 of 365 Project

Seems like everyday I see more of the RR tracks in our town being taken out and replaced with pavement. Sad to me as I always thought the trains were wonderful and exciting and it was fun to have a railroad that belonged to our town. Now I think the City of Prineville railroad is just going to become part of the towns history instead of something we see everyday. Here's two of the engines that have been a part of us for a long time.

Day #170 of 365 Project

I went down to the fairgrounds to watch some of the High School Rodeo Finals today. I got there pretty late but found a great place up in the top of the grandstand to watch & take pictures. I don't know who this girl is but I couldn't resist this picture of her as she watched her fellow competitors from the side lines.
